Different Methods of Poster Printing

Offset printing up to A1 size (840 x 594mm) can be a cost effective option when larger numbers of posters are required. Offset printed posters can be celloglazed for protection and durability. This is recommended for protection from wear and tear, dust, scuffing and moisture.

If you require a smaller quantity, then digital printing would be more cost effective. Our Epson 1100 wide format digital printer can deliver a digitally printed poster up to 1450mm wide. If your digitally printed posters are required to last for an extended period of time, it is worthwhile considering having them laminated to prevent tearing, minimise fading and protect from humidity and moisture.

Rigid or Flexible Poster Substrates

The types of paper or board used for your poster will depend on the final usage and the method of printing. Posters of suitable size can be mounted on board or foamcore for rigidity, or tin-rimmed top and bottom for ease of hanging.

If your poster is to be kept and reused indefinitely, or if it is required for outdoor use, it would normally be treated as a banner. Digital artwork can be applied to polysilk or vinyl substrates allowing for a whole new range of display possibilities, including retractible stands and other free-standing options.
